First outing of 2016 - Travel Trailer Fire and helping others.

This weekend we set out to camp with some old Friends but this was our first camping outing together. They just got another rig, moving from a travel trailer to a 5th wheel. With work schedules we could only commit to Friday night and come home on Saturday, but we made the most of it and had a great time.

Goal for the weekend was to share in the maiden voyage of with our friends new rig. The side affect of that was that we had to get our rig prepared and loaded to make the trip, officially kicking off our season.

We did not get around to having a bonfire but we did see a fire(see below) and grill food and have a few meals together. We had a great time. Hope to introduce them to our circle of camping friends soon. The park turned on the water Saturday as well.

First time using our Anderson Levelers - worked well.

There were several other early season starters at the campground as well. One was less fortunate, his travel trailer caught fire and is a total loss.

This what we seen on arrival. The owner got his tow vehicle moved and turned off the propane. Someone else cut power at the post.

This is after the fire department extinguished the active fire.

Working detectors and fire extinguisher everyone - we upgraded our extinguisher to a professional one, a fire extinguisher may not have prevented this loss but I like having a few good ones. Thankfully everyone got out and no one was hurt.

Next on our list  - we tried to help another camper with a drain problem. We were not able to resolve it while on site but everyone got to learn from it.
Click the photo for better view - Keep your plumbing is working order. The grey tanks quit draining, there is a physical issue in the sealed underbelly but I wanted to share this photo I took - notice the buildup. Remember this is not household plumbing, food, grease and other debris will clog faster if conserving water. Take preventative maintenance steps to care for your plumbing.
